New Ticket Kiosk funded by Hitachi

This summer the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust received a generous donation of £1000 from locally-based company Hitachi Information Control Systems Limited. Hitachi were keen to support the Bradford on Avon based Trust, which cares for the historic Jacobean Hall and grounds neighboring the company’s headquarters.

Like many charities, the Trust was hit hard by the effects of Covid-19, unable to open to the public or host income-generating events in 2020.

This year, with restrictions lifted, the Trust were able to host weekly Open Garden afternoons. The new kiosk provided visitors with a professional welcome point, replacing the make-shift gazebo and fold out tables. The kiosk has also created a safe space for the Trust to store event equipment and frees up staff and volunteer time by reducing the set-up requirements at each event.

Steve Missen, Chairman of the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust says “we are extremely grateful to Hitachi for providing us with the funding to purchase the new ticket kiosk. As the first point of contact for visitors to The Hall, the new kiosk will become a hub for visitor information and our friendly welcoming volunteers”.

The kiosk was erected, weather proofed and painted by the Trust’s volunteer garden team, who with the help of Head Gardener, Tom, maintain the beautiful grounds surrounding the Jacobean Hall all year long.

An official ‘ribbon cutting’ ceremony took place at the end of September, with two representatives from Hitachi, Denise Watkins, Head of Sales and Carolyn Robins, Marketing Executive receiving a tour of the Hall and grounds by Trust staff Sarah Murray, House and Estate Manager and Sofia Perkins, Heritage and Events Coordinator.

The Trust has now closed for the winter season, giving its staff time to plan 2022’s event programme. Private guided tours of the Hall and grounds for up to 12 people are available by appointment throughout the winter season for a minimum charge of £150; to enquire please get in touch.
