** CANCELLED ** Family Open Day - The Hall Estate

  • The Alex Moulton Charitable Trust The Hall Bradford on Avon BA15 1AJ United Kingdom (map)

Reluctantly we have taken the decision to cancel our Family Day at The Hall (Saturday 17th August) due to the forecast bad weather.

Heavy rain is forecast for Friday with some rain also expected on Saturday. As well as rain affecting enjoyment of the activities on the day, the grounds will still be very wet from the rain earlier in the week making a picnic on the lawns a soggy affair and make some of the paved areas very slippery. In consideration of the safety and enjoyment of our visitors we feel it would not be right to hold the event in these conditions.

We will however be offering more family activities in the future and will be launching a new children’s trail at our Open Afternoon on Tuesday 27th August (2pm – 5pm) so we hope to see you there!

The Alex Moulton Charitable Trust.

We are excited to announce the first Family Day in the grounds of The Hall this Summer. It promises to be a day full of fun and discovery. Bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds, take part in Toby the Cat’s fun childrens activity trail, and enjoy family games including our Croquet Challenge and Giant Jenga!

Situated in the centre of Bradford on Avon, The Hall is a magnificent Grade 1 listed Jacobean mansion which was home to the celebrated engineer Dr Alex Moulton and his faithful feline companion, Toby the Cat.

Come and enjoy a family day out at this fascinating place!

Tickets are £5 per adult and £5 per child. A family ticket for up to 4 people is available for £15 on the day only.

Tickets are available on the day (pay on the gate - cash payments preferred) and to book in advance here: .

Please note:

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times during the event.

The Hall Grounds are Grade II and II* listed and there are areas of uneven paving and lawn as you would expect from an historic estate.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be used for charitable purposes only.

Will The Hall itself be open during the Family Open Day?

The Hall will not be open during the Open Grounds afternoon, but we will have information available on the day about other events which you can also find online here.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No, children of all ages are welcome.

Benches, tables and chairs will be available for use during the day.

Food and drink are not included in the event ticket and you are encouraged to bring a picnic and picnic blanket to sit on.
