However, diversity can only thrive in genuinely inclusive conditions where everyone benefits and actively contributes.
Our organisational values—Love People and Places, Welcome Everyone, Think Now and Forever, and Make It Happen are at the core of everything we do. They guide how we work together, shape our decisions, and inform how we engage with all stakeholders. We aim to be a welcoming organisation for all.

Encouraging Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: We believe that creating an environment where differences are celebrated is key to achieving organisational success. Diversity is an asset, and we strive to create conditions where everyone feels welcome and included.
Creating a Respectful Workplace: We are committed to a workplace free of bullying, harassment, victimisation, and unlawful discrimination. Every individual is expected to contribute to a culture of dignity and respect, where their unique contributions are valued.
Listening and Responding: We listen to the experiences of staff and volunteers, particularly those from underrepresented groups, and take meaningful action. Surveys and peer networks such as LGBTQ+, Workability, and Race Equity ensure diverse voices are heard, respected and integrated into decision-making processes.
Celebrating Inclusion: We run initiatives to celebrate our differences and promote respect and understanding throughout the year. These efforts help foster dialogue and create learning opportunities.
Providing Opportunities for Growth and Development: All staff will be encouraged to develop their full potential through training and development opportunities. By utilising the talents of our diverse workforce, we aim to maximise the organisation’s overall efficiency.
Fair Decision-Making: All decisions regarding recruitment, promotion, and employment will be based on merit, ensuring fairness in compliance with the Equality Act 2010.
Reviewing Policies Regularly: We will regularly review our employment practices and procedures to ensure fairness and compliance with the law. Monitoring the diversity of our workforce will help assess how effectively our equality, diversity, and inclusion commitments are being met, with appropriate actions taken where necessary.
Tackling Discrimination and Harassment: Any complaints of bullying, harassment, or unlawful discrimination will be addressed seriously under our grievance and disciplinary procedures. In cases of gross misconduct, dismissal without notice may follow. We recognise that sexual harassment may also be a criminal offence.
