Eric Room

Found on the ground floor of the property, the Eric Room was once the estate’s kitchen with high-set windows and has now been transformed into a unique, calm, and comfortable place to stay for a perfect night’s sleep.

The Eric Room is inspired by the bravery and heroism of Eric Moulton, the twenty-six-year-old son of John and Alice Moulton, who was shot and fatally wounded following the declaration of war in 1914 between the Allied Powers and the Central Powers. The Eric Room uses colours from the Wiltshire Regiment uniform and features an ensuite green tiled shower room, converted from what once was a majestic fireplace.

The room’s historic high-set windows were intentionally designed to help regulate temperature during cooking by keeping the room cooler. Today, those same 400-year-old leaded stained-glass windows remain a remarkable feature.
