To stay in the Moulton room, the former private chamber of famed automotive engineer and inventor Alex Moulton, presents a unique opportunity for Moulton aficionados, enveloping oneself in what was once Dr Moulton’s private bedroom.

A dedicated entrance to the Moulton room is decorated with portraits, certificates, and diplomas of the originator of the iconic Moulton Bicycle, a staple of the swinging sixties.

Lovingly restored and reupholstered, Dr Moulton's 7-ft-wide four-poster bed features a beautiful headboard and canopy and a deep, hand-tufted, luxurious mattress for the perfect night’s sleep. It presents guests with a truly memorable experience in a remarkable room.

The room features 400-year-old leaded stained-glass windows, which remain a remarkable feature. To preserve and protect them, we’ve installed discreet secondary glazing—both for insulation and to safeguard their fragile, Grade I-listed status.
