The Hall Estate and Moulton Bicycles: A Historic Collaboration

We are proud to share a very special collaboration between The Hall Estate and Moulton Bicycles.

The Hall Estate Special Edition Moulton Bicycle celebrates the place where Dr Alex Moulton lived, worked, and first developed the pioneering bicycle designs that would go on to change British engineering. It was here, within the Jacobean house and gardens of The Hall in Bradford-on-Avon, that the original Moulton bicycles were conceived, refined, and brought to life.

Dr Moulton was not only the creator of the iconic small-wheeled Moulton Bicycle, launched at the height of the Swinging Sixties, but also the engineer behind the revolutionary rubber suspension system developed for the original Mini, a design that transformed British automotive engineering.

When the Moulton bicycle was launched in the 1960s, it quickly became a symbol of modern British design, embraced by the rich and famous, including supermodel Twiggy, singer Nina Simone and actress Goldie Hawn. It was more than a bicycle; it was a cultural statement.

Finished in exclusive Hall Green, every detail has been carefully chosen to reflect the character, materials, and quiet elegance of The Hall Estate itself.

Designed to be ridden and enjoyed, The Hall Estate Special Edition remains a practical, everyday bicycle, whether for commuting or relaxed leisure rides. What sets it apart is its deep connection to the place where Moulton’s engineering philosophy was formed.

Importantly, every bicycle sold supports The Alex Moulton Charitable Trust, helping to preserve The Hall Estate and support educational and engineering initiatives inspired by Dr Moulton’s legacy.
